The Adventure Begins

Ayusa has found me a host family! I am on cloud nine. I have been waiting for this moment for so long and I cannot believe it is finally here. I will be going to Missouri, USA to live with my host mom and I am leaving on August 7th 2013.

On monday morning I received a call from Travel Active with a placement proposal. They gave me all the information they had: it was a single woman who had experience with hosting students. That was it. I didn’t know anything else and I was supposed to agree or disagree with the proposal.

I talked about it with my parents and we were all for it. This was an once in a lifetime opportunity. With the limited information that I had due to privacy reasons, I said yes and signed the Acceptance of Single Host Placement document. After that, Travel Active and Ayusa worked together to finalize everything.

The next morning Travel Active rang again, they announced my placement was final! I was over the moon and I learned a bit more about the mystery woman who was willing to take me into her home. Her name is Rosemary and she is the mother of several grown children. She lives with her dog and one of her daughters who lives on a farm has horses (yay!). Also she has a granddaughter who goes to the school where I will be attending as well.

I am so thankful to Rosemary for giving me this opportunity and I am absolutely sure we will have a great time. Thank you.

So now I have eight days until my departure to New York! One week to pack up my life here and put it all in a suitcase. One week to take care of all the necessary things. One week to say goodbye.

I am so excited to meet everyone and I can’t wait to go to school!
